Digital safeguarding is one of the six elements in our online EdTech Review Framework. But what does Digital safeguarding involve?
The Digital safeguarding element covers three areas:
Protection
We want schools to have safeguarding policies and solutions that support and extend opportunities for teaching and learning. We aim for all schools to have tools in place that allow for digital monitoring, proactive review, and effective risk management.
Education
We want to ensure all pupils adopt respectful, responsible, and safe online practices both in and beyond the classroom. We believe there should be effective, robustly planned, and regularly reviewed teaching of online safety across all key stages, including all adults.
Safe and Secure use by adults
We want to help all our schools build and embed a culture where all adult staff are encouraged to lead by example and promote digital safety and wellbeing.
